Men’s Tennis Heads To Athens For Southern Intercollegiate Championships

MACON – The Mercer men's tennis team will continue the fall portion of its 2023-24 schedule this weekend when the Bears lace up their work boots and head to Athens for the 55th Annual Southern Intercollegiate Championships at UGA's Dan Magill Tennis Complex.

Four Bears are scheduled to take the courts in Athens, including Lucas Dini, Marceau Fouilhoux, Samuel MacLeod and Nemanja Stefanovic. The 3-day event will kick off on Friday at 9 a.m. with two rounds of doubles competition, as well as a round of singles play that is slated to begin at 1 p.m.

Saturday's action will feature a pair of singles rounds beginning at 9 a.m., and the event will conclude on Sunday at 9 a.m. with one round each of doubles and singles play.

The Orange & Black kicked off their fall schedule, Sept. 15-17, with competition at the Samford Invitational which was played in a "hidden duals" format. Andrew Branicki picked up a pair of singles victories at that event, while also teaming up with MacLeod for a doubles win as well. MacLeod and Stefanovic registered a pair of singles wins as well.
