MADISON, WISC. –The Mercer Bears tied the No. 15 ranked University of Wisconsin 0-0 on Friday night at McClimon Track/Soccer Complex in Madison, Wisconsin.

Mercer moves to 3-1-1 on the season, while the University of Wisconsin moves to 3-1-1 on the season. The Bears defense showed out tonight against the Badgers, Fullbacks Natnael McDonald and William Pondeca were a vital part to the defenses success Friday night. Along with the fullbacks, center defenders Sekou Agard and Chad Eldridge were consistently winning the ball out of the air. Midfielders Carlos Santamaria, Nick Wanzer, and Omar Hernandez created many opportunities for forwards Dylan Gaither and Barzee Blama. The closest scoring attempt the Bears had was in the 60th minute, when Santamaria was set up just inside the box from Wanzer, however the shot just went slightly wide.

Up next, the Bears will travel to Peoria, Illinois to play the Bradley University on Sunday, September 10 at 7 p.m. ET.
