Trodd Finishes Third, Bears Finish Sixth At Cullan Brown Collegiate

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Nathan Trodd had his best performance as Bear, finishing in a tie for third place at six-over, as the Bears wrapped up the Cullan Brown Collegiate on Tuesday. Mercer finished the event in a tie for sixth at 50-over.

The day began with the completion of the second round after it was suspended on Monday due to darkness. After round two was wrapped up, the third and final round of the event was played.

Trodd's third place finish was the best by a Bear so far this season. The native of Pietermaritzburg, South Africa posted rounds of 73, 74 and 72 and finished just one stroke behind the lead. Trodd made six birdies over his three rounds.

Jacob Uyesato, playing in his first event of the season, secured a top 20 finish at 12-over. He shot 75 in each of his three rounds.

Henry Robards, Trey Mixon and J.T. Herman rounded out the Mercer lineup with scores of 17-over, 20-over and 26-over, respectively.

Kennesaw State's Claes Borregaard and North Alabama's Andrew Ferworn shared the individual title, finishing the event at five-over. Kennesaw State took home the team title with a score of 29-over.

The Bears are back on the tee box on November 2 for the Fripp Island Intercollegiate in Fripp Island, South Carolina. The tournament is hosted by the USC Upstate and will be played at the Fripp Island Golf Resort.
