MACON - Mercer men's lacrosse head coach Ryan Danehy announced the regular season schedule for the 2025 season. The Bears are going to be "road warriors" this upcoming season with a total of 13 regular season contests featuring eight road games, two neutral site games and three home games at Five Star Stadium.
"2025 is an incredibly unique scheduling year," said Danehy. "Because of the Atlantic Sun Conference's new six-team slate, we were able to add a significant amount of new out-of-conference opponents (Marist, Drexel, St. John's, St. Bonaventure) and renew old rivalries (VMI). We are excited to once again, be playing in the 285 Lacrosse Event - this year at Bobby Dodd Stadium in Atlanta, Ga. against Drexel University. We are also playing four games in the state of New York, which will allow us to showcase the program to the northeast region. We are confident the diversity in this year's schedule will prepare us for ASUN conference play starting on Mar. 29 against Queens in Five Star Stadium."
The Bears open their schedule with a pair of preseason scrimmages on back-to-back weekends in January at Five Star Stadium.
Following the preseason scrimmages, the Bears will open the 2025 regular season with a trip to Virginia to battle Hampton University on Feb. 1. The following week on Feb. 8 the Bears hit the road again for the first New York trip of the season as they face Marist College in Poughkeepsie. On Feb. 15, Mercer will return back to Macon to host VMI for the first home game of the season at Five Star Stadium.
The Orange & Black has two back-to-back neutral site games on Feb. 22 in Naples, Fla. where the Bears will face a dominant Army program and another on March 1 in Atlanta, Ga. at Bobby Dodd Stadium where Mercer will go up against Drexel University.
Beginning on March 6, the Bears are back on the road headed towards New York for three away matches in a row. First up is St. Bonaventure on March 6, following by a battle against the Dolphins of Le Moyne College on March 8, rounded out by a contest against St. John's University.
Following a bye week, the Bears return home for Alumni Weekend as Mercer will host Queens in the ASUN opener at Five Star Stadium on March 29. The Orange & Black hit the road for two more conference match ups against the defending conference champions, Utah, on April 5 and Bellarmine on April 12.
The Bears return to Macon one final time on April 19 to face Air Force for Senior Day and will close out the regular season on April 26 at Jacksonville.
The ASUN Conference Tournament will begin on May 2 for the semifinal round and will conclude on May 4 where a champion will be crowned.
Times for all contests will be released at a later date.
