Bears Travel To No. 7 Army

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer men's lacrosse program will travel to West Point, New York to battle No.7 Army on Saturday, February 24 at 12 p.m. EST.

SERIOUS HISTORY
Saturday's game will be the second game between these two programs. The last time these two programs met was on February 25, 2023, where the Black Knights took home a 16-5 win over the bears.
LAST TIME OUT
Head coach Ryan Danehy and the Bears are coming off a 13-5 loss to No.19 North Carolina. Graduate Midfielder Chase Cope led the way for the Bears scoring a duo of goal. Mercer's defense stood strong holding the Tar Heels to a series history low of 13 goals allowed. Colin Kelley led the defense with 24 saves.
SCOUTING HIGH POINT
Army is led by head coach Joe Alberici, who is entering his 17 seasons as Head coach for the Black Knights. The Black Knights are currently 2-0 and were picked to finish first in the Patriot League. The Black Knights cruised past UMass 13-12 in Atlanta, Georgia on February 10. Army was also able to handle #12 ranked Rutgers in a 16-7 game last Saturday, February 17.
The Black Knights have four players who are leading the team in points with seven. Jackson Eicher (6 goals, 1 assist), Jacob Morin (6 goals, 1 assist), Evan Plunkett (4 goals, 3 assists) and Reese Burek (3 goals, 4 assists).
