Teegarden Captures 3000m Run Title At 49er Classic

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Senior Bri Teegarden out-paced the rest of the 27-runner field on the way to capturing the event title in the 3000m Run on Saturday afternoon at the Charlotte-hosted 49er Classic.

Teegarden outdid her previous personal best time in the event by more than eight seconds to cross 13-1/2 seconds in front of Davidson's Molly Sullivan and 21 seconds ahead of Clemson's Sydney Kelleher. Junior Reese Robertson finished 11th in the event, but toppled her previous personal best time by more than two minutes.

MU will be back in action again next weekend when the Bears split their squad and head to a pair of southeast meets. The sprinters, jumpers and hurdlers will trek to Columbia, S.C., for te Weems Baskin Relays, while the distance runners will compete at the Kennesaw State-hosted Don McGarey Invitational.
