ATLANTA – Junior Ariel Raggs bested out seven other competitors on the way to a fifth-place finish in the 400m Hurdles, while three Bears made their outdoor collegiate debuts inside Georgia Tech's George C. Griffin Track & Field Facility, to highlight action for the Mercer track & field squad on Saturday at the Yellow Jacket Invite.

Raggs was just 3-1/2 seconds off of the pace of Georgia Tech's Lydia Troupe for top honors in the 400m Hurdles, while senior Ceylani Rembert and freshman Kendyl Maddox both logged top-15 finishes in the 400m Dash.Jayla Battle (24th) and Lauryn McDougald both made their collegiate debuts at Saturday's event.

MU will be back in action again next weekend when the Bears split their squad and head to a pair of southeast meets. The sprinters, jumpers and hurdlers will trek to Columbia, S.C., for te Weems Baskin Relays, while the distance runners will compete at the Kennesaw State-hosted Don McGarey Invitational.
