Bears Drop Midweek Matchup Against Air Force

USAFA –Sophomore attackman Zach Basisty's would score the first goal of the game, however the Bears were unable to close the early first half gap and would fall to the Falcons 20-5.

Five different players scored goals for the Bears (2-10). Jackson Hirschy, Dillon Bush, Thomas Strong, and Ryan Brooks each found the back of the net for the Bears after Basisty opened scoring for the Bears. Between the pipes graduate goalkeeper Colin Kelley notched 10 saves while junior Rand Paddack had two saves during his quarter of play.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Zach Basisty and the Bears would jump off to a 1-0 lead five minutes into the game. However, Air Force would score four unanswered goals to lead the Bears 4-1 heading into the second.
Air Force jumped out quickly increasing their lead by one before Jackson Hirschy would find the back of the net. Air Force would score three more unanswered goals before Dillon Bush would score off the assist of Hirschy. The Falcons would score three more goals and would lead 3-11 heading in the second half.
Air Force would go on to combine to score six goals in the third and start of the fouth until Thomas Strong would dodge his defender and find the back of the net. Ryan Brooks would score the final goal of the game for the Bears off the feed from Ryan Katchen. The Falcons would go onto defeat the Bears 20-5.

Kelley continues his 10-game streak of having 10+ saves in a game.

NOTABLES

Air Force moves to 8-4 on the season and 7-0 in ASUN Conference Play.

The Bears will travel to Charlotte, North Carolina on Saturday, April 20 at 11 AM to battle Queens in their final ASUN away game of the season.
