Bears On the Road To Play Cleveland State Saturday

MACON – The Mercer men's lacrosse program will travel to Cleveland, Ohio to take on Cleveland State on Saturday, April 6 at 12 pm.

SERIOUS HISTORY
Saturday's game will be the 7th meeting between these two programs. Mercer leads the series with a 4-2 record against Vikings. The last time these two programs played, Cleveland State would run away with an 11-8 win over the Bears.
LAST TIME OUT
Graduate midfielder Chase Cope led the way for the Bears scoring two goals, however the Colonials defeated the Bears 15-7 on Saturday, March 30 in Moon Township, Pennsylvania.

Five different players scored goals for the Bears (2-7). Dillon Bush, Luke Hand, Khory Reid and Christopher Cappelmann each added a goal for the Bears. Between the pipes graduate goalkeeper Colin Kelley  notched 16 saves.

Cleveland State is led by Andy German who is entering his fifth season as head coach for the Vikings. The Vikings are currently 5-5 and 2-2 in ASUN conference play. They have had wins over St. Bonaventure, Lindenwood, Canisius, Robert Morris and VMI.
Vikings current leading point score is sophomore attackman Alex Van Voorhis with 22 points (12 goals, 10 assists). Tied for second is sophomore attackman Amari Austin with 20 points (14 goals, 6 assists). Tied with Austin is sophomore attackman Parker Yearego with 20 points (15 goals, 5 assists)
