
Mercer In Sixth Place After Second Round At Cardinal Cup

SIMPSONVILLE, Ky. - Katie Scheck carded the lowest round of the day for Mercer with a round of 72 (E) and Mercer moved up a spot on the leaderboard to sixth place after the second round at the Cardinal Cup from Louisville Golf Club.
As a team, Mercer had a second round of 11-over, 299 and for the tournament are 24-over, 600 and in sixth place out of the 15 teams competing in the tournament. Rutgers and Western Kentucky lead the field after two rounds at 12-over, 588.
After a first round of 76, Scheck came back on Saturday to card the lowest round so far this tournament by any Mercer golfer with a 72. The solid round moved Scheck 16 spots up the leaderboard an into a tie for 13th place. Ella Mäki-Tanila is also tied for 13th with rounds of 73 and 75.
Mercer's 117 pars combined as a team are tied for the most among all teams with Middle Tennessee and James Madison.
The final round on Sunday will be a shotgun start at 9 a.m.
