Volleyball Hosts Maryland Eastern Shore In Home Opener

MACON, Ga. - The Mercer volleyball team will play its first home match of the 2024 season against Maryland Eastern Shore on Wednesday. First serve is set for 4 p.m. in Hawkins Arena.
The Bears are coming off of a standout weekend, having gone 3-0 at the UNF Invitational in Jacksonville, Fla. Mercer opened up play against Quinnipiac defeating the Bobcats 3-1. The following day the Orange & Black beat Rhode Island in three sets and closed out the weekend defeating the host-team North Florida 3-2. Mercer named three players to the UNF Invitationl All-Tournament Team in Skye Ekes, MeMe Davis and Gia Padilla.
Maryland Eastern Shore started its 2024 season this past weekend in Erie, Pa. as they faced Mercyhurst in two matches. The Hawks took both matches from the Lakers with the final scores of 3-0 and 3-2. Both Mercer and Maryland Eastern Shore head into the matchup undefeated.
The Bears look to break the attendance record that was set last year at 772 fans against Bethune-Cookman in Hawkins Arena. Jersey rally towels will be given out to students during the game and free pizza will be offered for all students, make sure to grab your ticket at the front door.
For fans who are unable to make it to Hawkins Wednesday afternoon, the match will be streamed on ESPN+ or follow along with the live stats.
