BOCA RATON, Fla. – Junior Nemana Stefanovic and newcomer Tom Hagelauer both picked up singles victories, while the 55th-ranked due of Stefanovic and senior Marceau Fouilhoux produced the lone doubles win on the day, as the Mercer men's tennis team closed out action at the FAU Hidden Dual Tournament on Sunday afternoon.
Stefanovic got on the board quickly in singles action with a 6-3 win in the opening set, but FAU's John Bernard knotted things back up by toughing out a 7-5 win in set No. 2 a short time later. Stefanovic dominated the tie-breaking super-set, however, with a 10-4 triumph.
Hagelauer did away with the anxiety in his matchup with FAU's Luca Miremont, posting a straight-sets win, 7-5 and 6-4.
Fouilhoux/Stefanovic kept their train rolling with their third win of the weekend on the doubles courts, posting a 6-3 decision over FAU's Segundo Zapico and Lucca Pignaton.
The Bears will open the dual meet portion of their 2024-25 schedule on Friday when they trek to Alabama to battle Southeastern Conference foe Auburn (0-0) at the Yarbrough Tennis Center. First service is scheduled for noon ET.
