Mercer Hosts College of Charleston Saturday

MACON, Ga. - The Mercer women's tennis team welcomes College of Charleston to Macon on Saturday, Feb. 1. The match will begin at 11 a.m. from LeRoy Peddy Tennis Center.

The Mercer women's tennis team dropped its match on the road to Charlotte, 7-0 Thursday morning in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The morning got started with doubles matches where Charlotte's Shona Nakono and Ni Xi defeated Mercer's Ines Hömberg and Kennedi Jones, 6-1. The 49ers earned the doubles point after Prisca Abbas and Lucia Aranda of Charlotte defeated Mercer's Dhastina Mikhnova and Marie Bannmeyer, 6-2.

Play will begin on Saturday at 11 a.m. with doubles matches followed by singles matches.

SCOUTING COLLEGE OF CHARLESTON
College of Charleston has only played one match so far this spring season. The Cougars lost 5-2 at home to fellow SoCon member Wofford last Wednesday.

Senior Maja Jekauc and freshman Sia Cariov won their singles matches against Wofford. Sophomore Oziera Ahmad returns for the Cougars after an impressive freshman season in which she went 17-3 in singles matches.
