
Bears Wrap Up Second Round At Mercedes-Benz Intercollegiate

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Katie Scheck continues to lead the Bears after two rounds as she is tied for 16th at even par, 242 for the tournament after Monday's second round of the Mercedes-Benz Intercollegiate from Cherokee Country Club in Knoxville, Tennessee.
The Bears didn't quite have the round they were hoping for on Tuesday as they finished the day with a round of 12-over, 296. As a team, the Bears are tied for ninth place out of 15 teams at 16-over, 584.
Oregon State had the lowest round of the day at 4-under, 280 and took the lead from Tennessee after 36 holes. Oregon State will take a three shot lead into the final round on Tuesday as the Beavers are at 5-under, 563.
After carding a 1-under, 70 in her first round, Scheck came out of Monday's second round with a round of 1-over, 72 and is at even par for the tournament. She is six shots behind the 36-hole leader from Oregon State, Kyra Ly.
Tylar Whiting and Riley Kim had good rounds as well for the Bears as Whiting shot a 73 (+2) and Kim a 74 (+3). Whiting had a team high five birdies in her second round.
The final round will begin Tuesday morning at 9:15 a.m. via a shotgun start.
