Scheck Earns Top 10 Finish At Mercedes-Benz Intercollegiate

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Katie Scheck finished tied for ninth place at 2-under, 211 to lead the Bears at the Mercedes-Benz Intercollegiate from Cherokee Country Club in Knoxville, Tennessee.
As a team, Mercer finished in eighth place out of 15 teams at 20-over, 872. The hosts - Tennessee Volunteers - won the tournament with a final team score of 13-under 839.
Mercer's final round on Tuesday was tied for its lowest of the tournament with Sunday's first round at 4-over, 288.
Scheck carded rounds of 70 (-1), 72 (+1), and 69 (-2) to finish at 2-under par for the tournament. In Tuesday's final round, Scheck made an eagle on the par four, third. She was one of just six golfers to make an eagle in the tournament. Scheck's tied for ninth place finish is her third top 15 finish of the season and best finish of the year.
Riley Kim joined Scheck on Tuesday with a round under par as she carded a 1-under, 70. Kim finished the tournament 5-over, 218 and tied for 29th place in the 78-player field.
