Quinton Perkins IIÂ led the way offensively with 17 points and five other Mercer players scored in double figures as Mercer cruised to a 101-62 win over LaGrange Wednesday night from Hawkins Arena in the home opener for the Bears.

| Sunday's game will be the 26th all-time meeting between Mercer and Lipscomb. The series couldn't be any closer as Mercer leads the series 13-12. Sunday's game will be the first time the two teams will meet since Feb. 14, 2014 when Lipscomb beat the Bears in Macon, 79-48. | |

Last season, Lipscomb went 25-10 overall and 14-4 in conference play in the ASUN. The Bisons won the ASUN regular season championship and conference tournament championship. The Bisons lost in the second round of the NCAA Tournament to No. 3 seed Iowa State. Lipscomb was picked to finish fifth out of 12 teams in the Preseason ASUN Coaches Poll. Charlie Williams was named a preseason All-ASUN selection. Williams started 17 games last season for the Bisons and averaged 6.2 points per game while boasting a 43.9% field goal percentage. Redshirt junior guard Ross Candelino led Lipscomb with a career high 15 points in its loss at Vanderbilt. Lipscomb was nearly perfect from the free throw line going 20-for-21 (95.5%) from the line against the Commodores. |
