
Track & Field Squad Heads To Atlanta For Emory Thrills In The Hills Open

MACON – The Mercer track & field team will load up its distance arsenal and head to Atlanta this weekend as the Bears suit up to take part in the Emory-hosted Thrills In The Hills Open at the Woodruff PE Center Stadium.

The Bears will open up their portion of action on Friday when they compete in the 1500m Run, the 3000m Steeple Case and the 5000m Run. MU will close out action at the event on Saturday with competition in both the 3000m Run and the 800m Run.

The Orange & Black turned in a plethora of outstanding performances last weekend while competing at both the Georgia Tech-hosted Yellow Jacket Invitational and the Charlotte-hosted 49ers Classic as evidenced by eight top-10 finishes and a host of personal-best marks.

Senior Jiya Hastings led the way for Mercer at the Yellow Jacket Invitational with a seventh-place showing in the Long Jump, while the 49er Classic saw senior Nikki Harris and freshman Reagan Cooke come away with seventh-place tallies in the 5000m and 3000m Runs, respectively.
