
Mercer Begins Conference Play Saturday Against Wofford

MACON, Ga. - The Mercer women's lacrosse team opens up conference play on Saturday at home against Wofford. First draw is set for 2 p.m. from Five Star Stadium.

SERIES HISTORY
Saturday's game will be the seventh all-time meeting between Mercer and Wofford. Mercer has won all six of the meetings to date. Last year, the Bears went to Spartanburg, South Carolina and beat the Terriers, 21-13.
LAST TIME OUT
Gabby Brisbin and Caroline Glus each scored four goals but Mercer was unable to hold onto a fourth quarter lead and dropped a 16-14 contest to Jacksonville at home on Wednesday afternoon from Five Star Stadium.
Florida led 11-9 after three quarters, but Jacksonville outscored the Bears 7-3 in the fourth quarter to escape with the non-conference win.
SCOUTING WOFFORD
Wofford is 3-6Â on the season. After a rough 1-6 start to the season, the Terriers have won each of their last two games by a combined three goals over Xavier and Queens.
All three of Wofford's wins have come on the road as the Terriers are 3-2 away from Spartanburg this year. Wofford's opponents have jumped on the Terriers in the first half as Wofford is being outscored 77-47 in the first half.
This season, Wofford is averaging 11.3 goals per game. The Terriers are allowing 15.7 goals per game and have allowed at least 10 goals in all nine of their games this season. The Terriers lead the Big South with 19.3 ground balls per game. Wofford struggles in the draw circle as they are winning just 40.2 percent of draws.
