MACON – The Mercer track & field team will continue its 2025 regular season schedule on Friday and Saturday when the Bears divide their sloth and head to both Florida and South Carolina for weekend competition.
Â
MU's hurdlers, jumpers and sprinters will load the bus and head to Tampa, Fla., for Saturday's South Florida Invitational, while the distance squad is scheduled for Friday competition at the Duke Invitational in Durham, N.C. Fans can follow both meets in progress for free via live scoring and results links provided by both institutions.
Â
The Bears will get the weekend started on Friday at 9:05 p.m. when five harriers compete in the 5000m Run at Duke's Morris Williams Stadium. Senior Nikki Harris and junior Olivia Jones have both registered top-10 marks in the event among Southern Conference student-athletes this season, including Harris's school-record time of 17:23.06 that propelled her to a 7th-place finish at the Charlotte 49er Classic two weeks ago.
Â
Mercer has entries in eight events on Saturday at the USF Track & Field Stadium beginning with the Long Jump at 1 p.m. and concluding with the 4x400m Relay event at 8 p.m. Among the scheduled competitors for the Orange & Black is freshman Arielle Livingston who registered the SoCon's 5th-fastest mark in the 100m Hurdles at the Doc Anderson Multi & Invitational in Troy, Ala., last weekend.
Â
MU's 4x100m and 4x400m Relay squads, who are also scheduled for action on Saturday in Tampa, rank third and fifth, respectively, among league leaders this season.
