Mercer Welcomes Air Force For Senior Day

MACON, Ga. - The Mercer men's lacrosse team will host Air Force on Saturday at noon for Senior Day and the last game at Five Star Stadium for the remainder of the 2025 season.

SERIES HISTORY
Saturday's game will be the 14th meeting between the Bears and the Falcons stretching back to 2011 when the two teams met for the first time. Air Force leads the series 11-2, including a 20-5 win over the Bears the last time the two squads met on April 17, 2024 at Falcon Stadium. Mercer's two wins came in 2018 and 2021, both on Air Force's home turf.Â
LAST TIME OUT
The Bears dropped a heartbreaker to Bellarmine on Saturday, April 12, taking their second loss in conference play this season. The Bears did not trail throughout the entire game after the Knights went up 2-0 early on in the first quarter until Bellarmine put together a fourth-quarter surge to take the lead and defeat the Bears 17-14.
Mercer was once again led by Dillon Bush who put on a career-high performance of seven goals, including six in the first half, earning himself ASUN Offensive Player of the Week honors. Bush currently is third in the ASUN in goals per game with 32. Michael Frederick posted a hat trick with four goals and led the Bears with four groundballs while Jack Sullivan found the back of the net once with three assists. The remaining two goals for the Bears game from Dylan McKelvy and Ganon Cope. Between the pipes for Mercer, Rand Paddack recorded 13 saves.

The Falcons are led by Bill Wilson who enters his seventh season at the helm for Air Force. The Falcons finished the 2024 season with an overall record of 9-6 and a 8-1 record in the ASUN. Air Force currently sits with a record of 4-7 including a 2-1 record in the ASUN with a loss against Jacksonville. The Falcons have recorded 134 goals, 80 assists, 329 ground balls and 99 caused turnovers across 11 games.
The leading goal scorer for the Falcons is junior attackman Caelan Driggs who is second in the ASUN in goals per game (3.20) with 37 on the season. Another key scorer for the Falcons is senior attackman Josh Yago who is ranked 13th in the NCAA in assists per game (4.50) with 24 goals and 24 assists overall. On the defensive side for the Falcons, junior defender Cole Cunningham has posted 58 groundballs and 15 caused turnovers across 11 games and senior goalie Jake Marek has 102 saves (.483) on the season.
