MACON – The Mercer track & field team will continue its 2025 regular season schedule this weekend when the Bears pack up their show and head to Orlando, Fla., for the UCF-hosted Knights Invite at the UCF Track & Field Complex.
Â
It will mark the third-straight weekend of road trips of 350 miles or more for the Bears who are fresh off an appearance at the Baylor-hosted Michael Johnson Invite over the weekend in Waco, Texas. It is also the second of three trips to Florida for the Orange & Black who is scheduled to compete in the North Florida-hosted East Coast Relays next weekend (May 2-3).
Â
The Bears held their own among a stacked field at Baylor's Clyde Hart Track & Field Stadium on Friday and Saturday. Senior Ariel Raggs registered a 30th-place performance in the 400m Hurdles on Friday, while redshirt junior Charity Obazughanmwen finished among the top 25 finishers in Saturday's running of the 400m Dash. MU's 4x100m Relay squad just missed registering its season-best time on Saturday as well.
Â
Mercer has entries in eight events this weekend, beginning with competition in the Long Jump on Friday at 1 p.m. Saturday's action for the Bears will get underway at 10 a.m. with the Triple Jump. Fans unable to make the trip to central Florida can follow all of the action in progress for free via a live results link provided by the UCF athletics department.
