
Track & Field Treks To Jacksonville For East Coast Relays

MACON – The Mercer track & field team will get its final tuneup for the postseason on Friday and Saturday when the Bears pack up their show and head to Jacksonville, Fla., for the North Florida-hosted East Coast Relays. The Bears are scheduled to compete in seven events across the two-day event.

This weekend's action will mark the final postseason tuneup for the Bears who will head to Birmingham, Ala., next week for the four-day Southern Conference Championships at the Samford Track/Soccer Complex.

A pair of school record breakers will compete for MU on Friday evening as Jiya Hastings headlines action for the Orange & Black in the long jump and fellow senior Nikki Harris does the same in the 1500m Run. Harris will also be Mercer's lone entry in the 800m Run on Saturday afternoon.

Three events will don the schedule for the Bears on Friday evening in northeast Florida beginning with the 400m Hurdles and the Long Jump which will run concurrently at the Visit Jax Track at Hodges Stadium. Saturday's action will get underway at 10:30 a.m. as freshman Arielle Livingston competes in the 100m Hurdles.
