Bears To Make Postseason Debut At Gainesville Regional

INDIANAPOLIS – The 2025 Southern Conference champion Mercer softball team will make its postseason debut on Friday when the Bears take on fourth-ranked Florida in the opening round of the Gainesville regional at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium.

The Bears and Gators (43-14) will square off in the opening game of the Gainesville regional at 4:30 p.m., with Florida Atlantic (44-10) closing out opening-day action against Georgia Tech (27-21) at 7 p.m. All-sessions passes and single-sessions tickets go on sale to the general public on Tuesday at 10 a.m.

Winners in 19 of their last 22 outings dating all the way back to mid-April, the Bears (38-24) earned one of 31 automatic berths into the NCAA Tournament by virtue of a 7-1 run through the Southern Conference Tournament, including a pair of triumphs over top-seeded and defending SoCon Tournament champion Chattanooga on Saturday. The run helped the Orange & Black capture its first conference crown in the 40-year history of the program.
