GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Third-ranked Florida scored eight times on as many hits to help support a 1-hit performance from staff ace Keagan Rothrock and lead the Gators to an abbreviated 8-0 win over fourth-seeded Mercer in the championship round of the NCAA Gainesville Regional on Sunday afternoon.

The setback snapped the lid on an historic season for the Bears (40-26) who raked in the 40-year-old program's first conference championship, as well as its first berth into the NCAA postseason. Mercer closed out the season with 21 victories in its last 26 contests, including a 7-1 run through the Southern Conference Tournament and a pair of NCAA postseason triumphs on Saturday.
