Scheck finished tied for 12th
WOLCOTT, Colo. - Katie Scheck finished in a tie for 12th place as the Mercer women's golf team wrapped up play in a tie for 10th place at the Golfweek Red Sky Classic from Wolcott, Colorado at the Fazio Course from Red Sky Golf Club.
As a team, the Bears finished tied for 10th with a team score of 22-over, 886. Mercer tied with Sacramento State and UNC Asheville in the 20 team field. USC set a new tournament record on its way to winning the tournament with a team score of 45-under, 819.
Scheck carded rounds of 73 (+1), 68 (-4), and 71 (-1) to finish 4-under, 212 for the tournament. She made an eagle on the par 5, second in her third round on Wednesday for her second consecutive round in red figures to close the tournament. Ella Mäki-Tanila finished tied for 25th in the 100-player filed at 1-over, 216 and finished her tournament with a round of 72 (E) on Wednesday.
Up next for the Bears is the Mercedes-Benz Intercollegiate from Knoxville, Tennessee. The tournament will take place from Oct. 5-7 with 18 holes to be played each of the three days.
