Mercer Concludes Opening Round Of Bryan Bros Collegiate

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Due to impending weather, the opening round of the inaugural Bryan Brothers Collegiate was moved up to Sunday and the men's golf team concluded the first 18 holes in 13th of 15 teams.

Sophomore Henry Robards led the Bears in Sunday's round shooting an even-par 71. Robards made the turn at two-over and his four birdies on the back nine helped him turn in the only round that was not above par for Mercer.

Nathan Trodd's three birdies over the final nine holes allowed him to limit the damage and the senior carded a one-over 72.

The Bears had the seventh best score on all Par 5s. Mercer shot four-under as a unit with a 4.80 scoring average on holes 6,11,15 and 16.
