MACON – The Mercer men's tennis team will interrupt an otherwise five-match-long home stand on Friday when the Bears load the buses and head to Oxford, Miss., to take on Southeastern Conference rival Ole Miss at the Palmer/Salloum Tennis Center. First serves are scheduled for 11:30 a.m. ET.

Fans unable to make the trip to the Magnolia State can still follow all of the action for free via a live video link, as well as a live scoring link, provided by the UM athletics department.
Â
Mercer (0-4) is still seeking its first win of the season after dropping a 6-1 decision to Jacksonville State on Sunday at the Copelan Tennis Complex. Hod'Abalo Isak Padio picked up his first singles victory of the traditional spring campaign in the setback, while also teaming up with fellow senior Nemanja Stefanovic to deliver a 6-3 victory in the featured doubles matchup.
Â
The Bears will mark the first opponent in a doubleheader for the Rebels (9-0) who are also scheduled to take on Memphis on Friday evening in Oxford. Ole Miss is still unblemished through nine spring duals, including shutout victories over North Alabama, Furman, Samford and North Dakota. Isac Stromberg (12-3) and Benjamin Martin (11-4) have led the way for the Rebels so far with perfect 7-0 marks in singles play, while Stromberg and partner Kai Milburn have already compiled six wins this season in featured doubles matches.
Â
Friday's matchup will be the first-ever matchup between the two programs.
Â
The Bears are back in Middle Georgia again on Wednesday when they take on ABAC amid a men's and women's tennis doubleheader at the Randy Stephens Tennis Center in south Macon. Start time is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. and admission is free.
