BOCA RATON, Fla. – Mercer women's golf wrapped up first round play Monday evening, tied for 11th place out of 16 teams, at the FAU Paradise Invitational from Osprey Point Golf Club in Boca Raton, Florida.

As a team, the Bears are tied for 11th with Rutgers at 16-over, 304. Kentucky is the 18-hole leader at even par, 288.

Mahima Vurupatur and Katie Scheck each carded rounds of 3-over, 75 and are tied for 28th place in the field of 90 golfers. Vurupatur had two birdies on the day on holes, eight and 10. Scheck's lone birdie of the day came on the par 4, ninth.

As a team, Mercer had 56 pars on Monday, the second most in the field and only two fewer than Georgia. Scheck played the par 4's one-under par for the day which was tied for the seventh best score in the field on the par 4's

The second round will begin Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. ET with Tylar Whiting the first Bear to tee off.
