Mäki-Tanila Cards Low Round For Bears On Second Day At FAU Paradise Invitational

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Ella Mäki-Tanila carded a 1-under, 71 in her second round on Tuesday, to move up 18 spots on the leaderboard to a tie for 22nd place at the FAU Paradise Invitational from Osprey Point Golf Club in Boca Raton, Florida.
As a team, the Bears are stayed where they were entering the day in 11th place. However, the Bears had a much better day on the course on Tuesday, shootng a team score of 4-over, 292, 14 shots better than Monday's round. Mercer's 36-hole score is 20-over, 596. No. 24 Tennessee leads the 16-team field at 5-under, 571.
Mäki-Tanila's round consisted of four birdies, two on par 5's and two on par 4's. For the tournament, she is tied for 22nd place at 3-over, 147. Katie Scheck also had a good day, carding a round of 72 (E). She had two birdies, both coming on the front nine. Through 36 holes, Scheck has 28 pars which is tied for third most in the 90 player field.
The final round will begin Wednesday morning at 9 a.m. ET with Tylar Whiting the first Bear to tee off. Mercer will be paired with No. 25 Oklahoma and Rutgers.
