MACON, Ga. - The Mercer men's lacrosse team will host the Red Foxes of Marist University in the second game of the 2026 season at Five Star Stadium on Saturday, Feb. 7 at noon.

SERIES HISTORY
Saturday's game will be the second meeting between these two squads after Marist defeated Mercer in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. last season 16-6. Dillon Bush and Will Zylstra led the offensive charge for the Bears with two goals a piece.

LAST TIME OUT
The Bears opened the 2026 season on Saturday, Jan. 31 with a dominant win over Hampton defeating the Pirates 18-9 at Five Star Stadium. The Bears were led by junior attackman Dillon Bush who totaled seven goals and an assist with a hat trick in the first quarter, matching his career-high.

Senior attackman Michael Frederick posted a hat trick of his own with four goals against the Pirates. The remaining goals came from Will Zylstra (3), Ben Jose (2), Chance Haynie (1) and Luke Fox (1). Christopher Cappelmann went 20-23 at the faceoff X and added an assist. On the defensive side, Quinn Kelley picked up three groundballs and in the goal for Mercer, freshman Jacob Neuman posted 13 saves on the afternoon.

SCOUTING MARIST
The Red Foxes are led by Dave Scarcello who enters his second season at the helm for Marist. Saturday's contest will be the first game of the 2026 season for the Red Foxes. Marist finished the 2025 season with an overall record of 8-8 and a 5-3 record in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. Their final game last season was in the MAAC semifinals on Thursday, May 1 when they fell to Siena 15-14.

The Red Foxes return their leading goal scorer in junior attackman Collin Patrick who put up 37 goals and 24 assists last season, earning All-MAAC First Team honors.
