
Mercer Heads To DeLand, Florida To Play Stetson Wednesday

MACON, Ga. - The Mercer women's lacrosse team continues its 5-game road swing Wednesday in DeLand, Florida to play Stetson. First draw is set for 4 p.m.

SERIES HISTORY
Wednesday will be the 7th all-time meeting between Mercer and Stetson. Mercer has won all six of the previous meetings. The two team last met on March 27 in Macon where the Bears won 22-12.
LAST TIME OUT
The Mercer women's lacrosse earned its first win of the season in convincing fashion in a resounding 18-5 win at Kennesaw State, Wednesday evening from Fifth Third Stadium in Kennesaw, Georgia.
Mercer led 12-0 at halftime and was able to get a lot of players playing time in the second half. Three Mercer players scored their first career goal in the win.
SCOUTING STETSON
Stetson is still looking for its first win of the season. The Hatters are 0-4 and coming off an 19-6 loss at home to Boston University last Saturday. Stetson has struggled offensively and defensively to begin the season. The Hatters haven't score more than eight goals in any of their four games and have allowed an average of 20.5 goals per game.
Freshman attacker, Ryley Heilmann headlines the Hatters entering the Wednesday after recording back-to-back hat tricks against No. 7 Florida and Boston University. Heilmann leads the team with six goals and 14 draw controls.
Stetson has struggled in the draw circle as they are winning just 33.3 percent of its draws. The Hatters are also susceptible to turnovers when trying to clear as the Hatters are just 41-for-63 on clears and are averaging 13.0 turnovers per game.
