
Mercer To Battle Marquette In Milwaukee

MACON, Ga. - The Mercer men's lacrosse team is set to face-off against the Golden Eagles of Marquette on Saturday, March 7 at Valley Fields in Milwaukee, Wisc. at 1 p.m. ET.

SERIES HISTORY
Saturday's game will be the 3rd meeting between these to squads but the first in over 10 years. The first matchup dates back to 2013 with the Golden Eagles coming away with a 14-11 victory and then two years later in 2015, Marquette defeated the Bears 14-6.
LAST TIME OUT
The Bears are coming off of a tough 18-7 loss to the Drexel Dragons last weekend in Philadelphia, Pa. at Vidas Field.
Mercer's offense was led by sophomore attackman Will Zylstra who posted two goals, an assist and three ground balls on the morning. Dylan McKelvy, Jack Sullivan, Nick Church, Kade McNeil all found the back of the net for Mercer alongside Tommy Bartenhagen's first career goal. Defenseman Thomas Venzie caused four turnovers and two ground balls. In between the pipes for Mercer, Jacob Neuman totaled 12 saves in the loss.

The Golden Eagles are led by Jake Richard who enters his second season at the helm for Marquette. The Golden Eagles finished the 2025 season with an overall record of 7-7 and a 2-3 record in the Big East, falling to Georgetown University in the semifinals of the 2025 Big East Conference Championship 19-8 on Thursday, May 1.
The Golden Eagles currently sit with a record of 2-3 with wins over Cleveland State University and Detroit Mercy and losses to Notre Dame, Harvard and Michigan.
