SPARTANBURG, S.C. – A perfect week on the court paid additional dividends on Tuesday afternoon when senior Nemanja Stefanovic was crowned as the Southern Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week, the league office announced.
Â
Stefanovic, a product of Oakville, Ontario, Canada, tallied a perfect 4-0 record on the courts against a pair of SoCon foes last week, including a 2-0 mark in the No. 1 singles position. He used a 6-1 win in the first set, as well as a 7-3 tiebreaker in the deciding third set, to take down nationally-ranked Samford's Sandeep Mohandoss on Tuesday, and then yielded just three games in posting a straight-sets win over The Citadel's Noah Van Dyke at home on Saturday.
Â
He also teamed up with Hod'Abalo Isak Padio for two wins at No. 1 doubles, including a 7-6 triumph over nationally-ranked Samford's Mohandoss and Darcy Nicholls.
Â
A four-year starter for the Orange & Black, Stefanovic has racked up a team-best 20 singles wins during the 2025-26 campaign, including an 11-9 clip during the traditional spring season. He has also been a part of 19 doubles triumphs this season.
Â
Winners in five out of its last six outings, Mercer will begin its postseason road on Thursday when the fourth-seeded Bears (9-12) take on fifth-seeded Furman (8-14) in the quarterfinals round of the 2026 SoCon Tournament. Start time has been slated for 1 p.m. at Champions Club in Chattanooga.
