Mercer Makes Short Hop To Atlanta For Georgia Tech Invitational

MACON – The Mercer track & field team will stick close to the homefront this weekend when the Bears continue their regular season schedule at the Georgia Tech Invitational. The two-day event (Friday, Saturday) will be held inside the George C. Griffin Track & Field Facility.

The Bears are coming off a solid weekend of competition at both the Duke Invitational and the South Florida Invitational. Senior Emma James broke the school record in the 5000m Run to highlight action for the Bears in Durham, N.C., while the 4x100m Relay team established a season-best time to earmark action at the USF Track & Field Stadium.

Friday's 5 p.m. competition in the Long Jump will mark the first of six events for the Orange & Black on Friday in Atlanta. The Bears are scheduled to compete in six events on Saturday beginning with the Triple Jump at 11:30 a.m.
