Bori Named SoCon Offensive Player Of The Week For Second Time This Season

MACON, Ga. - Mercer senior midfielder Olivia Bori was named the Southern Conference women's soccer Offensive Player of the Week, respectively, for the week of Sept. 1-7, as first announced by the league office Tuesday afternoon.Â
It is the second SoCon Offensive Player of the Week award this season for Bori who also earned the recognition Aug. 25-31.
In two games last week against Winthrop and Alabama State, Bori scored three goals. On Sept. 3 at Winthrop, Bori scored two goals in a span of less than two minutes of game time as the Bears rolled to a 4-0 win over Winthrop. Three days later, the native of Jacksonville, Florida, tallied the game-winning goal in the ninth minute in the Bears' 5-0 Senior Day victory over Alabama State. Bori currently leads the Southern Conference in goals (7) and points (15).
Bori and the Bears will head to Tampa, Florida to play USF on Thursday, Sept. 10 to close out non-conference play. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET.
