2016 at MERCER: Established herself as the team's workhorse during a senior campaign in which she started all 58 games at catcher and earned a All-Southern Conference Second Team nod... Ranked second on the team and inside the SoCon top-20 in batting average (.325) while leading the Bears in home runs (7), RBIs, (40), slugging percentage (.488) and walks (23)... Ranked third on the team in hits (54)... Led the Bears with 12 multi-RBI performances and added 13 multi-hit contests... Batted .338 with a team-best 17 RBIs against SoCon foes... Had a career-high four hits (4-for-4) with two RBIs against Virginia Tech (April 2)... Batted in a career-high four runs at Alabama State two games prior (March 30)... Was named the SoCon Student-Athlete of the Week for March 29-April 3.
2015 at MERCER: Started 53 games as the Bears’ primary catcher during season … Finished fourth on the team and 15th in the SoCon with a .345 batting average … Had 13 multiple-hit performances … Put together a 16-game hitting streak from Mar. 6-28 … Ranked second on the team with 10 home runs … Drove in 34 runs on the year … Plated multiple runs in seven contests … Recorded 15 extra-base hits with four doubles and one triple to go along with her 10 homers … Totaled 51 hits and 33 runs scored … Led the team with a .456 on-base percentage ... Ranked ninth in the SoCon with a .588 slugging percentage … Tied for fourth in the league with 29 walks … Stole two bases on three attempts … Finished second on the squad with 284 putouts … Drove in a season-high three runs in games against IPFW (Feb. 6), Jacksonville State (Feb. 8), Villanova (Mar. 6) and Youngstown State (Mar. 13) … Reached base all four times with a season-best three hits in the SoCon Tournament-opening win over UNC-Greensboro on May 6.
2014 at MERCER: Started in all 56 games and carried a .221 batting average in 149 at-bats … Primarily played catcher, but played as the DH on a couple of occasions … Finished the season with five home runs and 26 RBI’s … Finished with second best fielding percentage on the team with a .983 average … Had five RBI’s in an 18-0 win against ETSU (Mar. 8th) … Tied for third on the team in doubles with nine.
2013 at MERCER: Shiver saw significant playing time as a freshman playing in all 53 games while starting all but two of them...Showed true potential with her plate discipline as she was one of three Bears to record more walks (17) than strikeouts (16)...recorded 28 hits, two of which were home runs, and knocked in 12 RBIs...Shiver scored 19 runs while also swiping 2 bags
High School: Shiver comes into Mercer with four years of experience under Lynn Avery at Lee County High School. She was the 2011 Region 1-AAAA Defensive Player of the Year and a four-year First Team All-Region player as well. Shiver is also a two-time All-State AAAA performer, garnering First Team honors her sophomore year and Second Team her junior season at Lee County. Her high school team also qualified for the first round of the Georgia AAAA state playoffs and was a 2009 state runner up in Region 1-AAAA.
PERSONAL: Born on Sept. 3, 1993 to Mike and Missy Shiver…chose Mercer for the opportunity to receive a good education and the chance to play D-1 softball…Shiver was the 2011 Wendy's High School Heisman award winner for Lee County HS and was also a recipient of the University of Georgia Certificate of Merit, which recognizes student-athletes who rank in the top five percent of their junior class...prides herself on being able to solve a Rubik’s Cube in less than two minutes…favorite athlete is Chipper Jones…majoring in Business.
