A former NCAA Division I student-athlete who has already gained extensive experience on the prep and club softball levels, Taylor Bachmeyer begins her first season at Mercer in 2025-26 as a graduate assistant manager for the Bears. Bachmeyer joined the Mercer coaching staff in August 2025.

Boasting a collegiate playing career that spanned three institutions, Bachmeyer logged time in 107 career games (74 starts), including an impressive 2025 campaign at Abilene Christian. Bachmeyer registered a team-best .321 batting average to go along with 15 extra-base hits and 20 RBI. She also played in 40 games (23 starts) in two seasons (2021-22) at Sam Houston State, including 25 appearances from the circle, and served primarily as a pinch-runner amid a pandemic-shortened 2020 season at Ole Miss.

Bachmeyer earned her degree in psychology from Sam Houston State in 2023 and served as a physics teacher at Pflugerville (Texas) ISD for the 2023-24 academic year, while also coaching the soccer and softball teams. Her soccer squad recorded nine wins on the way to an appearance in the 5A state semifinals.

A 2021 all-America scholar-athlete selection by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association, the Pflugerville native was also named Abilene Christian’s Newcomer of the Year following the 2024-25 season. Bachmeyer is a regular on the private lessons circuit, but also served as the pitching coach for the Texas Blaze Fastpitch organization.
