Mercer Women Take Fifth Place at Powerade Invitational

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Ten Mercer women placed at the Powerade Invitational on Friday evening at the Moccasin Bend Race Course, resulting in a fifth-place finish for the Bears in the women's two-mile run.
With a total time of 1:02:46, Mercer placed ahead of Austin Peay (1:07:37) and Alabama A&M (1:14:50). Middle Tennessee State won the team event as they had the top five individual runners.
Senior Victoria Rogers was Mercer's top finisher for a second straight week, placing 21st overall with a time of 12:11.78. A pair of freshmen, Anna Grzeszczak and Kimmie Whiting placed in the top-30 as well with times of 12:23.62 and 12:24.81.
Katie-Rose Alligood (12:48.64), Courtney Czerniak (12:56.18), McKaylin Darsey (12:57.03), Ellen Powell (13:10.37), Brianna Wahy (13:25.56), Julia Turbyfield (13:29.32) and Katie Whitworth (14:16.21) rounded out Mercer's individual performances.
