
Rogers Powers Mercer Women at Strut’s Opener

OXFORD, Ala. –  Behind a 15-minute and 6.9 second individual performance by senior Victoria Rogers, the Mercer women placed sixth overall at the Strut's Season Opener on Friday.

Mercer's overall time of 1:18.02 in the 4k cross country run placed the Bears behind team leader Auburn (1:12.44), Georgia State (1:15.18), Chattanooga (1:15.42), Florida A&M (1:16.28) and Samford (1:17.40). The Bears finished ahead of Troy and host Jacksonville State.

Rogers' 15:06.9 mark was good for 17th place overall. Twelve other Mercer women competed in the event: Courtney Czerniak (15:35.0), Kimberly Whiting (15:36.2), Shannon Millikin (15:48.2), Anna Grzeszczak (15:56.6), McKaylin Darsey (16:03.2), Katie-Rose Alligood (16:17.5), Brianna Wahy (16:37.9), Bethanie Bailey (16:40.9), Ellen Powell (16:50.3), Julia Turbyfield (16:56.9), Katie Whitworth (17:23.2) and Nidhi Shashidara (17.29.4).
