JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – Quirisa Mauga was 2-for-4 and the first five hitters in Mercer's lineup all registered hits but the Bears had two runners thrown out at the plate with nine more left on base in a 2-1 loss in the second game of a doubleheader at ETSU Saturday afternoon.

In all, six of Mercer's nine runners left on base were stranded in scoring position as the Bears (17-21, 3-2 Southern) recorded seven hits and drew five walks in the game. ETSU (15-17, 1-1) scored single runs in the first and third innings and never trailed in the game.

Mercer's lone run came as Danielle Castleberry drew a bases loaded walk in the fourth inning.
