Bears Fall Short at Home against Lehigh

MACON, Ga. – Mercer Men's Lacrosse fell short against the Lehigh Mountain Hawks on Saturday at Five Star Stadium, dropping a 13-8 decision.

How It Happened
Lehigh (2-0) scored the game's first goal just 1:31 into the contest as Tristan Rai connected on a pass from Teddy Leggett. The Bears (0-2) responded with four unanswered goals by four different players, including scoring three goals in a span of 35 seconds for the 4-1 advantage. The two squads then split the next four goals as the Bears held on to the three-goal advantage, 6-3.

The Mountain Hawks found their offensive stride, scoring six unanswered goals to take a 9-6 advantage with 1:04 remaining in the opening half. Mercer's Scott Baird connected on his second goal of the game to conclude the first half to trim the Lehigh lead to 9-7.

Both defenses locked down in the second half as there were only five combined goals in the final 30 minutes of action. The Mountain Hawks outscored the Bears 4-1 in the second half to solidify their 13-8 victory.
