Bears to Clash with Defending National Champion Virginia

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer men's tennis team will take its winning streak on the road to Charlottesville, Va. to face defending national champion, Virginia, on Friday. The match will be held at the Boar's Head Sports Club in Charlottesville, Va. with play scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.

Scouting the Cavaliers
Virginia has been the best of the best nationally, winning three straight national championships and four of the last five dating back to 2013. The Cavaliers are led by freshman Gianni Ross and junior Aswin Lizen. Ross currently holds a 6-1 singles record, including a 5-0 mark at the No. 2 slot. Lizen is an undefeated 7-0 and is currently ranked No. 18 in the latest ITA singles rankings. The Cavaliers are coached by first-year head coach Andres Pedroso.
