Bears Continue Road Swing, Facing Mount St. Mary’s Saturday

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer men's lacrosse team continues their road swing as they travel to Emmitsburg, MD. to take on Mount St. Mary's this Saturday, March. 10, beginning at 11 a.m.

Scouting the Mount
Mount St. Mary's enters Saturday's matchup holding a 2-4 overall record, with both wins coming at home. In their most recent outing, the Mount topped VMI, 16-9. The team has scored 73 goals on the season for an average of 12.17 goals per game, while tallying 42 assists. The Mount take an average of 39.2 shots per game, with a shot percentage of 31.1%. The Mount has four players in the double-figures in goals scored, with Brenden McCarthy leading the team with 14 goals on the season. McCarthy also leads the squad in assists, totaling 13. Mount St. Mary's is led by Head Coach Tom Gravante, who has been at the helm of the Mount men's lacrosse program since 1995.
Honorary No. 24
Hank Morgan will don Mercer's No. 24 jersey Tuesday in honor of John Michael Night. A different Bear will wear the No. 24 jersey each week of the 2018 season.
Bear Bones
Following play Saturday, the Bears will begin Southern Conference play, traveling to Jacksonville, Fla. to take on the Jacksonville Dolphins on Saturday, March 17.

- Freshman defender Matt Hughes is second in the nation in caused turnovers per game, forcing an average of 2.83 per game. The team ranks 19th in the country as a squad.
