Quotables
"I am very proud of our girls' efforts tonight, we knew it would be a tough battle against VMI. We got unlucky there last season, knocking our seeding down to seventh place in the tournament. So overall our girls came out with a lot of energy and a lot of effort. We created 27 shots, with 14 on goal. We created a lot of chances tonight. We showed a lot of resiliency when we were down 1-0 and responded very quickly. We kept pressing and got the second goal. It very easily could have been four or five, but we'll take the win and we look forward to matching up with UNCG Sunday." —Head Coach Tony Economopoulos
Up Next
Mercer will conclude their weekend home stand, hosting the UNCG Spartans this Sunday, Sept. 30 at Betts Stadium. The match is slated for 2 p.m.
