Bears Set for Midweek Matches at Tulsa and Arkansas

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer men's tennis team will hit the road for midweek matches at Tulsa and Arkansas. The Bears will first take on the Golden Hurricane on Tuesday, Jan. 15 before heading to Fayetteville, Ark. for a doubleheader at Arkansas.

Scouting the Golden Hurricane
Tulsa finished the 2018 season posting an 11-17 overall record, going 2-3 in league play. Much like the Bears, the Golden Hurricane is also coming off a split opening day, downing Bryant 7-0, but falling to Texas Tech, 4-3. In Tulsa's match with Bryant, senior Majed Kilani managed a 6-4, 2-6, 6-1, victory over No. 81 Matt Kuhar. Vince Westbrook who is serving in his 28th season leads the Golden Hurricane. Following the match with Mercer, Tulsa will next face No. 14 TCU on Friday.

Scouting the Razorbacks
Wednesday's doubleheader with Mercer will serve as Arkansas' season opener. Arkansas finished the 2018 season with a 13-14 overall record, posting a 4-8 mark in league play. Andy Jackson is serving in his 6^th season at the helm of the program, posting a 73-68 record in his first five seasons. Following Wednesday's match, the Razorbacks will next face St. Louis.

NEXT UP
The men's team will wrap up their road trip with a trip to DeLand, Fla. to take on the Stetson Hatters next Monday, Jan. 28. Play is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
