Jacksonville State defeats Mercer 15-0
MACON, Ga. – Mercer was defeated by Jacksonville State, 15-0, in the final game of the Mercer Invitational on Sunday afternoon at Sikes Field.

The contest was finished after five innings due to a run rule. Mercer fell to 2-3 overall after the opening weekend of the 2019 season.

Mercer fell behind early as the Gamecocks plated five runs in the second inning. Jacksonville State would continue its run over the following two innings, posting six and four runs, respectively. The Bears recorded just two hits by Kenlie Harvey and Allie Jones. Jones stole one base as well.

Sydney Tucker, who made her collegiate debut in the circle, took the loss after tossing 2.1 innings. Her counterpart, Faith Sims, improved to 2-0 on the season by pitching all five innings. Lauren O'Dell and Bailey Pattison relieved Tucker in the circle.
