Bears Hit The Road for Weekend Swing in Florida

Mercer to compete against North Florida and Buffalo this weekend
MACON, Ga. – The Mercer men's tennis team will head to the Sunshine State for a pair of competitions at the North Florida Tennis Complex this weekend. The Bears will first face North Florida on Friday, Feb. 8, before taking on Buffalo on Saturday, Feb. 9.

Scouting the Ospreys
North Florida enters the weekend holding a 2-3 overall record, most recently falling to No. 25 NC State, 6-1. The Ospreys won the ASUN Tournament last season and advanced to the NCAA Tournament where they fell to No. 40 Miami. Dominik Barton leads the team in singles wins with three on the season. North Florida is led by head coach Matt Lucas who is serving in his second season at the helm.
Scouting the Bulls
Buffalo enters Saturday's matchup holding a 1-1 mark on the year. The Bulls had a huge win over Harvard, 4-3, in their season opener. Buffalo finished the 2018 season with a 13-10 overall record, falling to Western Michigan in the finals of the MAC Tournament. Matthew Johnson leads the squad in wins, with an unscathed 2-0 record on the season. The Bulls are led by head coach Lee Nickell who is serving in his ninth season at Buffalo.
