
Olivier Stuart Earns Singles Victory at North Florida

JACKSONVILLE, FLA. - The Mercer men's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to the Ospreys at the UNF Tennis Complex Friday night.
The Bears fell behind early, after a hard-fought doubles competition. North Florida's No. 3 pairing of Federico Nani and Jorge Nunez defeated Carver Arant and Piyush Salekar, 6-3. Mercer evened the odds claiming the No. 1 court as Olivier Stuart and Nicolas Guillon topped Nilo Duarte and Till Von Winning, 6-4. The Ospreys clinched the doubles point with Sahil Deshmukh and Dominik Barton topping David Georgadze and Stathis Tsiranidis, 7-6.
Mercer tied the match at 1-1 as its No. 1 seeded Stuart bested Von Winning, 6-2, 6-2. The Ospreys regained the lead as No. 6 Nani beat Arant, 6-2, 6-4. North Florida extended its lead as No. 2 Deshmukh defeated Guillon, 7-6, 6-1. The match was clinched on court No. 3 as Guardia fell to Barton, 6-0, 6-4. Court No. 5 saw Stathis Tsiranidis drop a 7-6, 6-3, decision to Duarte. Play concluded as No. 4 Georgadze fell, 6-2, 4-6, 6-4, to Nunez.

The men's team will rbe back on the courts tomorrow, taking on Buffalo at 1:30 p.m. at the UNF Tennis Complex.
