Danielle Castleberry, Allie Jones tally multi-hit performances
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Danielle Castleberry and Allie Jones had two hits apiece in Mercer's 9-3 road loss to No. 6 nationally-ranked Florida at KSP Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The Bears (13-20) fell victim to four home runs by Florida, which improved to 27-6 overall. Mercer trailed by just two runs heading into the home half of the fourth inning before the Gators pulled away.

Trailing 4-0 in the top of the fourth, Mercer scored twice after Jones and Megan Lane tallied consecutive singles and advanced into scoring position on a sacrifice bunt by Kenlie Harvey. After Shaila Warren loaded the bases with a walk, Mercer plated both runs on a fielder's choice play and throwing error.

Mercer's momentum was halted the next half inning when the Gators extended their lead to 7-2 on a three-run home run. The Bears' final run of the game came in the fifth when Micayla Rood scored on a RBI single from Jones.

Three Mercer pitchers tossed two innings apiece in the circle, including Lynn Gardner, who started and took the loss.
