Mercer Pushes ETSU to Brink on Friday

Olivier Stuart remains undefeated in SoCon play
MACON, Ga. – The Mercer men's tennis team pushed Southern Conference-leading ETSU to the brink in a 4-3 loss at the Leroy Peddy Tennis Center on Friday afternoon.
Junior Olivier Stuart remained undefeated in SoCon singles play with a straight-sets victory (6-1, 6-0) over Frazier Rengifo, who entered the match with a 12-1 (5-0) record in No. 1 singles. Stuart, who has won 11 of his last 12 singles matches, improved 15-5 overall and 6-0 in No. 1 singles.
Mercer fell to 10-13 (3-3 SoCon) on the season while ETSU moved to 16-4 (6-0 SoCon).
The Bucs took the doubles point despite Stuart and Nicolas Guillon's 6-4 victory over Rengifo and Yusuf Khamis on court one. The action then shifted to singles play, where Stuart opened with his straight-sets win. The two teams would trade blows throughout singles action with Guillon and David Georgadze earning wins on court two and five, respectively. Tied, 3-3, the match came down to court four, where Mercer suffered a two-set loss, clinching ETSU's victory.
